May
13, 2004 - Redmond, Washington, USA – In
addition to Cosmos Control System, Avitech introduces Galaxy,
a Graphical
User Interface for configuration and editing of single display
virtual monitor walls. This Windows™ based software package
is part of the new Media Command Center (MCC), which will be
introduced & showcased at the upcoming InfoComm2004 trade
show in Las Vegas, USA, Booth #4347.
The Galaxy software has been designed as a complementary product
to Cosmo and is consistent with Avitech’s goal to allow
users to create the size of the monitoring system they need
- from a simple system with one display to large systems with
multiple displays. It is very important that customers with
a less complicated system do not have to sort through a lot
of features they don’t need. To accompany this flexible
architecture is an intuitive user-friendly control application
-- Galaxy.
Galaxy is a Windows TM based program that can run on any PC
or laptop with Microsoft Windows XP or 2000. This program allows
the user to quickly and easily configure/change layout and
edit presets for the virtual monitor wall. To accommodate different
PC hardware design, Galaxy can communicate via IP or serial
ports. As a facility’s Media Command Center (MCC) system
grows, Galaxy can be easily upgraded to Cosmos at no extra
charge.
“During the design of our MCC module, we made a conscious
decision that there needed to be two software control solutions
to fit this flexible and scalable hardware architecture. Galaxy
is the result of hours of customer input and usability tests;
it is a great complement to the MCC family.” states Morris
Gong, President of Avitech.
