August 5, 2005 - Redmond,
Washington, USA – As China ramps up
to hold the country’s Tenth National Games to be held
in October, 2005, Avitech ramps up planning schedules for
the installation of 16 of their MCC-4dE multi-image display
processors into the IBC (International Broadcast Center) facility.
The Tenth National Games (to be held in the Jiangsu province,
east of China, and held every four years) will feature 32
sports and over 350 sports disciplines and is often referred
to as the mini-Olympics – especially this year due to
the Beijing 2008 Olympics. The success of the signal monitoring
of this event lies on the infrastructure and architecture
of Avitech’s multi-image display processing systems.
The IBC will be using 16 ea. MCC-4dE display processors –
digital video multi-image display processing modules. These
modules also include 32 embedded audio functionality (8 per
image), which is displayed as part of the overall on-screen
display.
Avitech is currently installing the system (through system
integrator Sanitec) in preparation for the major athletic
event. The Avitech system will be closely monitoring the sources
switched by a Grass Valley Concerto routing switcher (controlled
by an Encore control system). Snell & Wilcox interface
equipment glues the operation together with various pieces
of signal distribution and conversion modules. All signals
are being distributed to be viewed on 3 ea. 50” Panasonic
Plasma Monitors.
“As the selected system integrator, we are committed
to making sure our customer has the right tools to ensure
highly efficient, high quality programming, and with the Avitech
solutions, we can be assured that their monitoring requirements
are met,” comments Mr. Liu Fei, Deputy Director of Sanitec,
Beijing. “We have installed multiple Avitech systems
throughout the region, and have always been completely satisfied
with mutli-image processing tools that that Avitech supplies.”
“Avitech is very proud to have been chosen by the 10th
National Games Committee to provide the video and audio signal
monitoring functionality,” states Morris Gong, President
of Avitech International Corporation. “This significant
contract shows the trust given by China to Avitech’s
products and services due to the flexibility and innovative
architecture our systems provide.”
